Class Descriptions
Cardio-Core Blast
Whether you are a beginning exerciser or an advanced athlete, this high energy
class is designed to energize your body and kick your metabolism into overdrive.
Each session will begin with a gradual warm up and then proceed through a 45 minute
cross training routine designed to strengthen the muscles, burn fat and get you
fit. Exercises will include: traditional calisthenics, plyometrics, agility exercises,
boxing and kick boxing, abdominal and core strengthening exercises and dynamic
flexibility exercises. Bring a towel, water bottle, yoga mat and an open mind
ready to work. Class will conclude with a brief yoga stretch emphasizing flexibility,
relaxation and breath awareness. All levels welcome.
Gentle Flow and Stretch
This class is designed for beginner through intermediate level students who are
looking to combine some gentle vinyasa flow with foundational postures and a variety
of stretching techniques. By focusing on poses and stretches that increase blood
flow and maximize the healing potential of the body, this class can assist muscles
in recuperation from more intense workouts. Class will move at a slower pace with
careful attention paid to alignment and range of motion. A variety of straps and
props will usually be incorporated.
Hatha 1
This class is geared towards beginning students or on-going students who wish
to deeped their foundation postures. Sun salutations and a wide range of standing
and seated postures will be explored. Breath work and relaxation will be part
of the practice.
Mixed Levels
This class is for all levels of students ranging from new to continuing students.
The class has a moderate pace and will provide students with a practice in breath
work, postures and relaxation.
Strengthen, Sculpt and Tone
This 1 hour class is designed to strengthen your bones & muscles, increase
your metabolism and reshape your body in a creative and fun environment. Studies
show that resistance exercise is the key to maintaining bone density and preventing
osteoporosis as we age. By using dumbbells, resist-a-bands, fit balls and a variety
of other training tools and techniques, your body will be ready to encounter any
challenges that you may meet along the way. As always, class will conclude with
a brief yoga stretch to relax the muscles and increase flexibility. All levels
welcome.
Supported Asana
Simliar to Hatha 1, Supported Asana is geared towards beginning students or on-going
students who wish to deepen their foundation postures. By using a variety of prop’s
such as bolsters, blocks, chairs, straps and even the wall, students will have
their body supported as they explore each posture. Careful attention will be placed
on alignment of the spine, hips and joints. This class is wonderful for students
with arthritis, joint or back issues or who are recovering from injury as well
as experienced yogis wishing to refresh their basics.
Vinyasa Flow Yoga
This class is for students who have good foundation of basic asana’s and sun
salutations and are looking for a more vigorous practice. The sequence of postures
is designed to create heat in the body, build inner strength, stamina and endurance
by linking postures in a continuously moving sequence with breath. This class
will include standing and seated postures as well as backbends, twists, inversions,
core strengthening, breathe work and relaxation.
